Does the Tripp Trapp highchair comply with safety regulations?
Highchairs, as with all childrens furniture, must meet safety standard regulations.
International safety standards that govern openings, harmful substances, stability, and durability are just a few of the requirements every highchair must meet.
Tripp Trapp complies with and exeeds the following standards:
- EN 14988:2006 Children's high chairs
- EU directive 2005/84/EC of 14 December 2005 (requirements on phtalates content)
- ASTM F 404-07 Standard Consumer Safety Specification for High Chairs
- Öko-Tex standard 100 for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products at all stages of production
In addition to these safety standards, other certification seals or marks of standards approval can be awarded. Tripp Trapp has been awarded the GS mark (Europe), and is JPMA certified (USA).
Why is the Tripp Trapp made from beech wood?
Beech wood possesses durable, firm, and elastic properties, which makes it the ideal natural material for Stokke to use in the making of Tripp Trapp, Stokke Sleepi, Stokke Care, and Stokke Keep.
The benefits of beech wood are numerous. Not only is beech tough and dimensionally stable, but it also possesses exceptional characteristics in relation to construction gluing, and laquer retention. Grown and harvested in the beech wood belt of eastern Europe, each tree is cultivated, handled, and refined in a modern environmentally friendly controlled way to meet our ecological ideals.
